MHWL or mean high water line is the point between the two high tide lines (sea level). Using a 20-meter line level attached to the intertidal pole, depth measurements are collected every one meter and substrate, and seagrasses are documented.
It's important to know where we are currently and how our efforts will do once they are in place. Students will be measuring the intertidal shoreline around Durney Key.
This data will be used to compare how the intertidal area changes as we monitor it over the next 5 years. All of our data can be found on the progress report page.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more about Durney Key, please reach out to us. We are located at 9130 Old Post Rd, Port Richey, FL 34668 and our team is eager to hear from you. Whether you are a researcher, donor, or simply interested in our work, we welcome your inquiries and feedback.
